      Manufacturing Operations Manager – Aluminum Billet Casting

      Rosemount, Minnesota

      Full Time

      As the Billet Cast House Operations Manager, you’ll lead all aspects of our Billet Cast House operations. From production and maintenance to logistics and safety, you will drive excellence in everything we do. Your leadership will empower the team to achieve key performance indicators (KPIs), optimize production, and foster a continuous improvement culture.

      Key responsibilities include:

      • Leadership: Manage and inspire a high-performing Billet Cast House team to meet safety, quality, and productivity goals.
      • Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives to enhance operations through Lean Manufacturing and other process improvement methodologies.
      • Operations Management: Oversee casting, maintenance, logistics, shipments, and EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) operations.
      • Training & Development: Develop and implement comprehensive training programs to ensure team competency and career growth.
      • Budget & Performance: Achieve budget objectives and develop countermeasures when performance deviates from targets.
      • Safety: Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols, ensuring a safe work environment for all team members.
      • Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders across the organization to ensure alignment on goals and initiatives.

      Who We’re Looking For:

      We need a hands-on, proactive leader with extensive experience in aluminum melting, casting, and operations management. Your expertise in these areas, combined with strong leadership skills, will be essential in guiding the Billet Cast House to new heights.

      Qualifications

      You have: (required)

      • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field from an accredited institution.
      • 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
      • 5+ years in an operations leadership role with budget responsibility.
      • Experience in applying and coaching Lean Manufacturing principles.
      • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position now or in the future.

      Exceptional Candidates also have: (preferred)

      • 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably in metal melting and casting of Aluminum, Billet casting.
      • Master’s Degree (or higher) from an accredited institution.
      • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma methodologies (JIT, SPC, TQM, etc.)
      • Demonstrated focus on a safety culture, with a continuous Safety mindset.
      • Problem solving skills essential to fixing production equipment and manufacturing systems issues.
      • Ability to effectively present information to peers and top management
      • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
      • Knowledge of aluminum billet casting processes and technologies.
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
      • Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment and able to handle several urgent tasks at once.
      • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (i.e. math and blueprint reading skills; Basic understanding of PLC’s).
      • Ability to manage budgets and track key performance indicators (KPIs). Obtain Molten Metal Safety and Cast house training.
      • Language: English – additional Spanish skills are a plus

      Skills and Certifications

      OSHA or other safety-related certifications.
