Cultivates internal and external client relationships
Identifies and resolves transaction issues
Performs and reviews complex financial modeling
Provides fundamental credit analysis (including commercial real estate market research, qualitative and quantitative property performance, sponsor financial statement detail, and comparable transaction information)
Reviews transaction due diligence (Third Party Reports, Asset Summaries, Sizing Models, etc.)
Creates asset summary memos (i.e. confidential information memorandum and, lenders’ / investors’ presentation)
Develops deep Fannie Mae / Freddie Mac program knowledge
Assists less experienced team members with more complex transactions
Bachelor's degree
Seven (7) years of related experience
Master of Business Administration (MBA)
Ability to effectively organize and prioritize
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a positive and optimistic attitude
Ability to work independently and responsibly with little supervision or instruction
Advanced proficiency in Excel, Argus, Word and PowerPoint
Excellent attention to detail
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical skills
- Evidence of approval as MAP-approved underwriter;
- OR Experience underwriting residential healthcare facilities within the previous five (5) years AND evidence of training requirements for MAP approval to include completion of the Office of Residential Care Facilities (ORFC) Section 232 Underwriter Training; AND
- Direct experience working for an approved MAP Lender

Job Description:
At Regions, the Capital Markets Agency Underwriting Lead works within the Real Estate Capital Markets Project Finance Group (RECMPF) to complete financial analysis and borrower due diligence and helps coordinate loan closings.
The RECMPF Group is housed within the Capital Markets Group of Regions Bank and provides client-specific off-balance sheet financing solutions through its various Agency Products – Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and HUD.
Primary Responsibilities
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
This position is incentive eligible.

Candidates must meet approval requirements for Section 232 Healthcare Underwriters, in accordance with the HUD MAP Lender requirements:

The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.
