      Marketing and Merchandising Analytics Analyst 1 - Marketing Analyst, Web Analytics, and SEO

      Position Summary

      The Marketing and Merchandising Analyst role conducts proactive analysis of all marketing channels, search engine optimization, and member engagement with Costco Travel’s websites to provide recommendations and insight to ensure key performance indicators are maintained. This individual will be expected to provide best practices and innovation to improve the online experience for Costco Travel’s websites, thereby enhancing search-ability that will drive organic traffic and business growth. This position will be expected to partner with members of IT and business to execute and improve SEO strategies focused on technology and content initiatives. They will partner with other members of the marketing and merchandising team to define key metrics, set-up reports, conduct analysis, and provide recommendations for improvements to Costco Travel’s marketing and merchandising strategy.

      Job Duties/Essential Functions
      • Develops strong partnerships with marketing and merchandising management and other departments to understand the department’s reporting and data needs.
      • Reviews ad hoc requests for feasibility and estimates delivery timeframe.
      • Defines and develops analytical and statistical models for advanced analysis and prediction .
      • Identifies and recommends opportunities to apply advanced analytics to solve business problems .
      • Demonstrates thought leadership and presents findings and interpretations of the data analysis to peers, stakeholders, and end users .
      • Designs and develops processes to extract data from internal and external sources based on business requirements; transforms them into meaningful data elements.
      • Adheres to reporting best practices -- data visualization, scorecarding, dashboarding, etc.; recommends improvements to existing analytics solutions where appropriate .
      • Builds and manages stakeholder relationships, including business partners, users, suppliers, customers, project team members, and management leaders .
      • Keeps up with industry trends and technologies; evaluates new technologies as needed .
      • Contributes technical expertise in analytics methodologies, performance measurement, and research using advanced analytical and experimental social and digital platforms .
      • Creates and maintains documentation for all reporting processes and procedures.
      • Regular and reliable workplace attendance at your assigned location.
      • Ability to operate computer, phone, headset, copier, printer

      Experience, Skills, Education & Licenses/Certifications
      Required:
      • 2+ years’ experience in the eCommerce SEO and Web analytics.
      • Strong foundation in mathematics and statistics.
      • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills to connect with stakeholders at all levels.
      • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and translate analysis into meaningful, accurate, and timely reports and visualizations.
      • Highly motivated self-starter, problem-solver and execution-oriented team player.
      • Hands-on experience with one or more of SEO and Analytics tools such as BrightEdge, Google Search Console, Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, Adobe Target.
      • Advanced Excel and Google Sheets experience.
      • Dedication to learning and development of SEO expertise.
      • Extremely responsive, with a strong sense of urgency.
      • Proficient in the understanding of analytical processing, including data management, optimization, predictive modeling, and visualization.
      • Successful track record of managing multiple projects and work streams independently.
      Recommended:
      • BA/BS from an accredited university.
      • Experience developing visualizations in Tableau.
      • Experience with HTML and Javascript.
      • Experience working with Tableau and other reporting analysis tools a plus.
      • Ability to identify and implement continuous process improvement.
      • Successful internal candidates will have spent one year or more on their current team.

      Pay range : $70,000 - $100,000
