- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or Public Relations or a closely related field of study from an accredited college or university.
- Three (3) years of full-time equivalent experience in marketing and/or public relations.
- Marketing for public assembly facilities hosting a wide range of entertainment events is preferred.
- Three (3) years of supervisory experience.
- Experience implementing modern management methods by incorporating long-range planning techniques and exhibiting leadership skills.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and must have and maintain a satisfactory driver’s record based on the City of Hampton’s criteria.
- Must successfully pass a background check prior to any offer of employment or promotion.
- Experience in negotiating media buys, media placements, and preparing documents for invoicing and settlement.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications to include word, excel, databases, presentations and Adobe Photoshop.
- Knowledge of a variety of social media platforms and use of these platforms in a professional environment is required.
- Knowledge of website content management software.
- The incumbent may be considered “essential personnel” during City emergency situations or at the direction of the City Manager which may include long hours and unusual schedules.

We’re seeking a dynamic individual to lead innovative marketing efforts for the Hampton Coliseum, The American Theatre, and The Charles H. Taylor Visual Arts Center. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive marketing strategies to drive revenue, increase public engagement, and elevate the visibility of our programming. You will craft and execute event-specific advertising plans, manage promotional budgets, and collaborate closely with venue leadership—all under the guidance of the Deputy Director, Coliseum. This is an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact on the cultural heartbeat of Hampton.
