- A Master’s degree with both credit hours and athletic administrator experience related to the subject matter of the course being taught.
- A minimum of five years of experience in an Athletic Administrator role.
- Certification as a Certified Athletic Administrator (CAA) or Certified Master Athletic Administrator (CMAA) through the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) is required to teach seven of the fourteen courses in the program: ATAD 550 Leadership & Organization Behavior in Athletic Departments, ATAD 551 Sociology of High School and College Athletics, Impact of Law and Ethics in Athletics Administration, ; Holistic Development of High School Student Athletes, NIL and Fundraising Strategies for High School Athletics, Financing High School Athletics, and State and Federal Regulation of High School Athletics. CAA or CMAA Certification is not required to teach the other seven courses in the MSAA program, but is preferred.
- A Terminal degree (JD or PhD, DBA, or EdD) in the subject matter of the course being taught

Columbia College Online Education is accepting applications for a part-time online adjunct instructor and developer to build and teach various courses in the Master’s in Athletic Administration program. After completing the application process, the candidate's application will be considered active for two years. Qualified applicants will be contacted if an opening in their respective fields becomes available.
