      Missions

      • Defines the optimum raw material for the projects
      • Solves material problems and contribute to paint and glue problems encountered during the project and production
      • Supports Material/Paint validation testing activities and contributes to internal Laboratory development and continuous improvement.

      Main activities

      For projects in quotation and development:

      • Works closely with the Raw Material Purchasing Dpt to ensure the optimum technical choice of raw material is proposed to the project
      • Define the technical criteria to choose the raw material, based on customer specifications and Purchasing Department strategy
      • Proposes a risk removal plan and validation plan to the project
      • Recommends the raw material to the project, based on validation results
      • Proposes technical solutions, in the event of non-conformity, to reach the customer requirements
      • Keeps regular contacts with our customers and suppliers to understand and orientate the qualification of the raw materials.
      • Follows validation plan with external or internal laboratories and when required performs his/her self the test according to BTC laboratory possibilities along Customer requirements.

      For productivity project and production:

      • Proposes alternative raw material solutions to reduce costs and / or improved quality of the products
      • Assists production plants in the event of problems linked to raw material during serial life

      Interaction with KH:

      • Contributes to R&I projects and Métier projects
      • Gives feedback on projects to KH
      • Exchanges on blocking points and quotation


      Suppliers follow up:

      • Leads supplier’s development policy in order to meet customer requirements on current and future projects

      Competences requirements:

      • Master Degree in materials engineering
      • Knowledge of plastics materials
      • 2 to 3 years of significant experience in material field in direct contact with customer
      • Knowledge on material formulation & testing
      • Experience in laboratory activities
      • English communication skills in verbal and written required at good level
      • German communication skills is an advantage
