What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct financial assessments of employee benefits and forecast health care benefit costs
- Review and analyze medical and pharmacy claims experience along with demographic data
- Develop and deliver accurate renewal calculations, new business quotes, and stop-loss evaluations
- Build and maintain actuarial models to support pricing and forecasting efforts
- Collaborate with compliance teams to ensure adherence to state and federal regulations
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 5 years of underwriting experience
- Must maintain current required licenses and certifications relevant to the field
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels
- Proficient in applicable technology and software, particularly MS Office Suite
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Economics, Statistics, or other math-oriented disciplines
- One or more years of underwriting and/or actuarial healthcare experience
- Completion of two or more actuarial exams
- Strong analytical skills in mathematics and statistics
- Ability to manipulate and interpret statistical data effectively
