      Job Title: Medical Assistant


      Job Description

      As a Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of the office. This role involves supporting multiple physicians and their patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care, management, organization, and communication.

      Responsibilities

      • Greet and check in patients.
      • Answer telephone calls.
      • Schedule appointments.
      • Prepare charts.
      • Take vital signs and room patients.
      • Enter data in electronic medical record system.
      • Order imaging studies.
      • Obtain prior authorizations.
      • Schedule outside referrals.
      • Call in prescriptions.

      Essential Skills

      • Minimum of six months experience as a medical assistant.
      • Knowledge of Classification Procedural Terminology (CPT) or ICD-10 coding.
      • Experience with electronic medical records.

      Additional Skills & Qualifications

      • 1-3 years of experience as a medical assistant or medical secretary.
      • Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures.
      • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
      • Ideally, 1-2 years of experience within a medical office, preferably within the Orthopedic setting.
      • MA Certification is a plus.
      • Strong organizational skills and keen attention to details.
      • Appointment scheduling and medical terminology knowledge.
      • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), or National Health Career Association (NHA) preferred.
      • Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card preferred.
      • Degree in Medical Assisting or alike preferred.

      Work Environment

      Join a fun working environment with friendly practitioners who often buy lunch and celebrate birthday parties. Work alongside tenured staff in a growing medical operation in Honolulu. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM, offering opportunities for personal and professional growth.

      Pay and Benefits

      The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.
