      Effective April 30, 2025 and expires August 30, 2025. Applicable only for MA & MOS positions in the Centers of Excellence and Maryland Family Care practices, of which this role applies to.


      Responsibilities

      The main duties of the Medical Assistant II include but are not limited to:

      - Rooming patients

      - Obtaining vitals and patient history

      - Setting up the exam room for each specific patient - suture removals, drain removals, etc.

      - Chaperoning providers during examinations

      - Taking before and after photos of patients

      - Assisting with office procedure

      - Maintaining surgial instrument by cleaning with sterile technique and transporting them Centralized Sterilization

      - Process surgical specimens and cultures and send to Pathology

      - Tracking surgical specimens

      - Stocking exam and procedure rooms

      - Ordering clinical supplies

      - Completing FMLA/Short-Term Disability forms

      - Travel to satellite locations

      - Screening specific types of patients prior to being scheduled

      - Helping at the front desk when needed

      - Helping patients feel at ease during their appointments


      Requirements

      EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

      • Education and Work Experience:
        • High School Diploma or GED
        • Additional education preferred, but not required

        SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

        • License Requirements:
          • N/A
          • Certification Requirements:
            • Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
            • Age Specific Care Provided For:
              • Adolescents
              • Adults
              • Geriatrics
              • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
                • Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel
                • Microsoft Outlook
                • Epic - preferred but no required
                • Performance Manager/NetLearning
                • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize one or more of the following:
                • Must be able to work independently and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
                • Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public.
                • Must be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team with other employees.
                • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
                • Other Requirements:
                  • Required to travel to satellite offices - travel is shared with other medical assistants.
