- Oklahoma Heart Institute offers 24/7 catheterization labs, cardiac rehabilitation and a heart failure center. In addition, OHI is involved in over 200 cutting-edge research studies across the vast amount of specialties within the system.
- The Medical Assistant position performs selected nursing and clerical duties that assist in patient care management.
- Responsible for maintaining an efficient patient flow, assisting the physician during patient exams and performing all necessary follow-up in a timely and accurate manner while exhibiting quality care.
- Must be knowledgeable of medical terminology, routine office procedures and medical instruments.
- Must be skilled in the taking of vital signs.
- Gives medications and knows the five rights of medication administration.
- Screens phone calls from patients for the provider.
- High school Diploma or GED
- BLS, PALS, or ACLS may be required for certain units
- Successful completion of a Medical Assistant training program or more than 3 years of working experience as an MA.
- 1-3 years of previous experience
- Vocational / Technical Education
- Current CMA, RMA or ABR certification
