      Job Title: Medical Assistant (MA)
      Location: Oceanside, California 92054
      Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:45 AM - 5:00 PM

      We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant (MA) to support a healthcare team in Oceanside, CA (92054). This is a hands-on, patient-facing role that combines clinical duties with administrative tasks, offering an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patients' healthcare experiences.

      The ideal candidate will be confident in performing blood draws-including on pediatric patients-comfortable using the EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, and fluent in English and Spanish.

      Key Responsibilities

      Clinical Duties:
      • Interview patients and document medical history and visit purpose.
      • Prepare and stock exam rooms; ensure cleanliness and readiness for patient care.
      • Record vital signs (blood pressure, height, weight, temperature) and test results in the EHR.
      • Assist medical staff with examinations and procedures.
      • Perform phlebotomy and collect specimens for lab testing.
      • Administer respiratory treatments, injections, immunizations, and medications per standing orders or protocols.
      • Support pediatric patients, including conducting blood draws.
      • Conduct lab procedures such as hemoglobin testing, EKGs, urine analysis, lead level testing, and more.
      • Sterilize medical instruments and maintain sterilization logs.

      Administrative Duties:
      • Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries.
      • Register patients and schedule appointments.
      • Assist with managing payments and verifying insurance as needed.
      • Educate patients on treatment procedures, medication, and follow-up instructions.

      Required Qualifications
      • High school diploma or equivalent.
      • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
      • Medical Assistant Certification (from an accredited institution).
      • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.
      • Bilingual in English and Spanish (conversational fluency or higher).
      • Comfortable and experienced with performing blood draws.
      • Ability to work with pediatric patients.
      • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, clinical workflows, and EHR systems (EPIC preferred).

      Preferred Qualifications
      • Associate's degree in a healthcare-related field.
      • One (1) year or more of Medical Assistant experience.
      • At least six (6) months of experience using an EHR system.
      • Formal phlebotomy training.

      Schedule & Work Conditions
      • Location: Oceanside, California 92054
      • Monday - Friday, 7:45 AM to 5:00 PM
      • Includes a lunch break and a 15-minute break
      • Business casual dress code
