What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Answer, screen, and process a high volume of incoming calls while directing patients to appropriate providers
- Communicate results, enter medication requests, and document information in the Electronic Health Records
- Schedule and cancel patient appointments while ensuring adherence to department guidelines
- Update patients on the status of their referrals or authorizations and provide necessary exam preparation instructions
- Facilitate issue resolution by addressing caller inquiries and collaborating with colleagues and supervisors
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Graduate of a medical assisting program accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education (CAAHEP)
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a patient-focused healthcare environment or high-volume multichannel contact center
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to handle high call volumes efficiently and accurately
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems and scheduling tools

- Familiarity with clinical decision trees and scheduling criteria
- Background in conflict resolution and customer service
- Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare processes
- Additional certifications related to medical assisting or patient services
