  ChristianaCare Wilmington Adult Medicine / Family Medicine at Wilmington is looking for a Medical Assistant.
  

  ChristianaCare’s Rocco A. Abessinio Family Wilmington Health Center is home to three primary care practices among other programs and services. Offering wellness and preventive health visits for people of all ages, and medical care for treating illness and injury, the team of clinical and support personnel provide the high-quality health care that every patient within our community deserves, regardless of income or ability to pay. The Wilmington Adult Medicine / Family Medicine at Wilmington includes physicians who are teachers, faculty members, making it possible for resident doctors to be part of the care team. Faculty participate in research and continually advance their knowledge as they mentor leading-edge and compassionate care teams who often continue working at ChristianaCare.
  

  You would be joining a fantastic care team that includes attending physicians, physician residents, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, medical assistant, and office assistants. Wilmington Adult Medicine / Family Medicine at Wilmington sees an average of 250+ patients, per day.
  

  Work Schedule:

  • Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday from 8am to 5:30pm
  • Tuesdays from 7am to 7:30pm
  • Medical Assistant will rotate Saturdays from 8am to 12pm

  Duties / Responsibilities:

  As a medical assistant you will be involved with greeting and supporting patients both virtually and on-site within the practice, preparing them for virtual visits, performing point of care testing, injections, medication administration, and EKGs, assisting clinicians with examinations and procedures, preparing exam/treatment rooms with necessary supplies and equipment, completing patient-specific paperwork, ensuring EMR is up-to-date, handling patient call backs, sterilizing medical equipment, handling prior authorizations, referrals, and medical refills, scheduling tests, procedures, and surgeries, performing quality control on POCT equipment, providing documentation assistance, performing clerical duties, troubleshooting patient issues with video visits, and supporting patients in joining ChristianaCare's Patient Portal.

  Education Requirements:

  • High School Graduate or GED required.
  • A graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
