- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinic environment
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures and assists providers as needed
- Support nursing staff and providers as directed
- Assist with managing clinic flow
- Schedule patient follow-up appointments, communicate referral information, and discharge instructions
- Explain medication instructions, and seek additional support for patients if needed
- Administer medications, including injections, when appropriate
- Draw blood and administer vaccines
- Respond to voicemails, routes messages, and return phone calls in a timely manner
- Record patient information in Electronic Health Record (EHR)
- Clean, process, and sterilize medical instruments
- Collects and handles laboratory specimens appropriately
- Follows 5S and continuous quality improvement methods in the workplace
- Follow all HIPPA guidelines
- Performs other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent Work Experience
- Medical Assistant Certification
- At least 1 year of experience in an ambulatory care setting or a similar setting is highly desirable.
- Current American Heart Association healthcare provider CPR (BLS), or Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Trauma Life Support, or Advance Resuscitation Training required
- Bilingual in English/Spanish or English/Arabic preferred
- Full Time, $25-$29/hr

We are currently seeking a Medical Assistant for Logan Heights FHC. This location offers an extensive array of health care services, including an in-house pharmacy, vision clinic, dental clinic and urgent care center. The clinic is conveniently located off of the 5 freeway and offers patients free parking. This position is ideal for an experienced professional seeking long term career opportunities or Medical Assistants with clinical backgrounds.

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base range for this position, exclusive of fringe benefits.
$25.00 - $29.20If you are hired at Family Health Centers of San Diego, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, jurisdictional requirements, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to these factors – we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is what we reasonably expect to pay for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth.
