***This position is outpatient ortho procedures and casting only! Please read the job duties below***
Location: 2400 E Katella Ave Ste 400 - Anaheim, CA
REQUIRED:
• HSD/GED
• 1 year of experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting
• Proficiency in cast care, wound care, plaster and fiberglass casting and splinting.
•Medical Assistant Certificate/Diploma from a DAPIP accredited program OR national certification through AAMA, AMCA, AMT, CCBMA, or MMCI.
•Demonstrated ability to prepare patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests, taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature, and reporting patient history summaries
•Proficiency with injections/blood draws and venipuncture
Preferred:
•Experience with PRP procedures
•Experience with CS-Link/Epic
•Understanding of medical terminology
•Experience with medical insurance, referral processes, and benefit plans
Job Duties:
1. Apply and remove a variety of splints, plaster, and fiberglass casts, and request x-rays as indicated under the direction of a physician
2. Assist in complex procedures like pin removal and application of traction.
3. Responsible for inventory, ordering, and receiving of all casting supplies and equipment.
4. Set up exam and procedure room based on patient visit needs.
5. Position the patient for the procedure and note the degree of discomfort experienced by the patient.
6. Instruct patient in cast care, wound care, swelling, and how to remove and apply splints.
7. Set up and prepare injectable trays and medications as per provider orders.About the company
