What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct coding and documentation audits for assigned providers to ensure compliance with standards
- Educate clinicians on documentation and coding requirements through classes and regular meetings
- Monitor compliance issues identified during audits and recommend areas for focused audits
- Prepare reports by collecting and analyzing relevant information obtained through educational activities
- Assist with various projects as directed by the Billing & Coding Compliance Manager
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with 5 to 7 years of experience as a credentialed coder, preferably in a medical practice
- Licensing, certification/degree as one of the following: RHIA, RHIT, CCS-P, CPC, or CEMC
- Thorough knowledge of CPT and ICD coding principles and guidelines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience in auditing
- Advanced working experience in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (formulas, pivot tables, dashboards)

- Specific understanding of regulatory requirements related to documentation, claims processing, reimbursement, and coding
- Ability to maintain the highest standard of confidentiality with sensitive information
- Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with healthcare providers
