What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Review medical records and physician documentation to ensure accurate coding of procedures and services
- Prepare and submit insurance claims to appropriate payers, including government programs like Medicare and Medicaid
- Communicate with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers to resolve billing issues
- Maintain accurate records of healthcare provider qualifications and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Train and educate other staff members on coding processes and billing practices
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
- Two (2) years of professional administrative experience related to medical billing and coding practices
- Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 Codes
- Ability to maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and Medicare billing rules
- Experience in revenue cycle management is a plus
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Certification in medical billing and coding
- Experience with credentialing and privileging processes for healthcare providers
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with healthcare compliance and data analysis
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders
