What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Verify insurance coverage and benefit information using payer portals and direct communication with insurers
- Submit prior authorization requests for services, tests, and procedures based on payer requirements
- Monitor and follow up on pending authorizations to prevent delays in patient care
- Communicate with patients regarding their insurance coverage and financial responsibilities
- Collaborate with clinical staff and scheduling teams to ensure compliance with insurance requirements
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum educational requirement: High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years of experience in insurance verification, medical authorizations, or revenue cycle operations
- Proficiency in EHR systems, payer portals, and Microsoft Office
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Associate's degree in healthcare, business, or a related field
- Knowledge of commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care insurance plans
- Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare coding systems
