      Medical Billing – Revenue Cycle – Registered Nurse Coder

      Remote

      Starting Pay $63k

      JOB SUMMARY

      Registered Nurse Coder provides the utilization review on all patient flights for all GMR and its family of company’s ambulance programs through accurate International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10) coding, clinical billing narratives, clinical risk/medical necessity evaluation and evaluation/submission of all medical necessity appeals.

      ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

      • Conducts the review of all flight record documentation for the purpose of assigning the proper ICD 10 codes to the highest level of specificity in the proper order/priority.
      • Utilizes medical/emergency standards of care, professional physician position papers, air medical transport criteria, and pre-hospital triage criteria to determine the medical necessity for billing air rates and the mileage billing rate (closest medical receiving facility).

      Hours/Work Schedule:

      • Training Schedule: Rotating weekend schedule matching trainer
      • Position Schedule Post Training:
        • Rotating weekend schedule

      QUALIFICATIONS

      Education

      • Current Registered Nurse licensure in state of residence

      Skills

      • Ability to define and identify problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

      Experience

      • Minimum of five years in Emergency Department (ED), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), or flight/ambulance experience or job experience equivalent.
      • Two years’ management/leadership experience preferred
