What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Manage accounts receivable (AR), including analysis of aged AR and root cause issues
- Investigate, resolve, and appeal denials, including contacting payer representatives
- Make independent decisions on claim adjustments, resubmissions, and other resolution techniques
- Collaborate with internal teams and care center staff to optimize revenue cycle functionality
- Drive achievement of department's daily and monthly Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Graduate
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a physician medical billing office
- Strong understanding of revenue cycle performance drivers and complex claims resolution
- Experience with major payers such as Anthem, Medicare/Medicaid, United Healthcare, and Carefirst
- Proficiency in Athena EHR and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP)
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience supporting medical claims billing in DC/MD/VA
- Familiarity with Washington payors
- Prior experience in a Rural Health Clinic environment
