Audit Manager Job Description-
Responsibilities:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of all external coding audit processes as well as the coding
auditor’s activities. Included functions include work distribution to all direct reports, evaluating
daily productivity, tracking and monitoring audits outcomes, ensuring medical coding reviews are
done in accordance with internal and external regulatory requirements.Tracking and monitoring each auditors progress in meeting deadlines; ensure data is reported
accurately and completely; evaluate performance improvements in relation to corrective action
plans; analyze data collection for patterns and trends to identify opportunities to improve
documentation and coding as well as report outcomes & assessments to various internal and
external stakeholders as applicable.Perform quality assurance reviews of coding analysts' audit findings. Frequently communicate
effective feedback and provide decision support to reviewers on coding issues, as needed.Develop and implement processes and workflows around the execution of audits; maintain
documentation and chart review audit results consistent with internal standard operational
procedures as well as CMS and other governmental regulations and our company goals and
policies.Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Associates or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution Certification in American Academy of Professional Coders or American Health Information Management Association RHIT/RHIA/CCS/COC/CPC
Strong experience creating and editing documents in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
Strong experience using Microsoft Excel to create, edit and manipulate data
Work experience in a supervisory role for code auditing or in a coding setting
Ability to plan and execute educational programs and presentations via interactive web meeting.
Three to five years of inpatient auditing experience in ICD-9/ICD-10, DRG, CPT, APC.Experience with compliance audits and written reporting of findings.
Experience with multiple EMR Systems: Epic, HPF, Cerner, Meditech, etc.Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Coding credential required.
Minimum 5 years acute care hospital coding experience required.
Minimum of 3 years documented experience in managing coding audits strongly preferred.
Managerial experience in healthcare related field preferred.
Dedicated home based workspace with access to high speed cable Internet available.
Compensation and Benefits:The pay range for this position is $90,000 $100,000 per year. Pay is based on several factors, including but not limited to current market conditions, location, education, work experience, certifications, etc. IKS Health offers a competitive benefits package including healthcare, 401 (k), and paid time off (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements for full-time employees).
