      Your Role

      As a Medical Coding Operations Specialist, you will have the unique opportunity to work closely with experienced team members who are dedicated to your growth and development. We offer a supportive and collaborative work environment, regular mentorship sessions, and opportunities for professional development. As a member of our team, you will gain valuable hands-on experience in optimizing coding education operations.

      Short Term Priorities in the next 12 Months:

      - Collaborate with the coding education team to streamline and optimize operational processes

      - Assist in the development and implementation of efficient coding workflows and procedures

      - Parse and process records to ensure accuracy and completeness, under the guidance of experienced team members

      - Create and maintain patient profiles in our database management system, with the support of your mentor

      - Manage coding queues and prioritize tasks based on deadlines and importance

      - Build pivot tables to summarize and aggregate data sets to help best manage workflow and identify potential areas for improvement

      - Work comfortably within various EMR applications to abstract medical records for purposes of coding and or quality of care measures

      - Communicate effectively with team members and other functional partners to resolve any issues or concerns, and contribute to a positive working environment

      - Actively participate in mentorship sessions and learning opportunities provided by the team

      Long Term Priorities:

      This position provides avenues for long-term career advancement, such as evolving into a role as a coder educator or progressing into a Patient Advocate position within the Patient Experience Center team.

      Requirements

      About You

      - Strong interest in coding and a desire to learn and grow in the field of coding and documentation practices

      - Basic understanding of coding concepts and terminology

      - Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

      - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

      - Familiarity with database management systems and coding workflows is a plus

      - Working knowledge of various EMR systems

      - Strong communication and interpersonal skills

      - Ability to work independently and as part of a team

      - Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes

      - Open to receiving feedback and guidance from mentors

      Education:

      - High school diploma or equivalent required

      - Relevant coursework or certifications in coding, operations management, medical assistant, or related field is a plus

      - RHIT, CHDA, CPC-A or other appropriate medical coding certifications required

      Salary Description

      50,000-60,000 per year
