What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Manage a high-frequency desk primarily focused on medical-only claims
- Gather relevant facts through thorough claim investigations and determine compensability
- Develop action plans to manage benefits and ensure cost-effective claim resolutions
- Collaborate with various stakeholders, including injured workers, employers, and health professionals
- Analyze reports and negotiate claim settlements to achieve optimal outcomes
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of one year of experience in insurance, customer service, claims investigation, legal, rehabilitation, or medical claims processing
- Ability to pass the claims adjuster license exam(s) within six months of hire
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university is preferred
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Workers’ compensation claims experience and licensure preferred
- Candidates with multiple state claims management experience are preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a paperless environment
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities
- Experience with claims management systems and Microsoft Office suite
