What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Identify, appraise, and summarize scientific literature and clinical practice guidelines for medical policy development
- Conduct critical evaluations of peer-reviewed scientific evidence regarding medical devices, procedures, and services
- Draft and develop medical policies that guide coverage decisions by clinical staff and external providers
- Collect and synthesize information from various scientific and clinical sources
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure adherence to state and federal health policies
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Master's Degree in a health science-related field (e.g., Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Genetics) or current licensure/certification (e.g., RN or PA)
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical or research experience
- At least 2 years of experience in developing and drafting medical policies
- Proven experience in evaluating and summarizing scientific literature and clinical guidelines
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess medical technologies

- Experience working in a health plan environment
- Knowledge of medical coding practices
