      Job summary

      We are looking for a new member of the team to work 13 to 19 hours a week. Days and times to be discussed. We offer a competitive rate of pay and NHS pension scheme.

      To provide comprehensive reception and administration services within a primary care setting, providing administration and clerical support to the partnership and associated clerical and medical staff.

      Main duties of the job

      The delivery of Reception and administration services as described.

      Ability to work on own initiative and team working within the Practice.

      Maintain awareness of requirements of role requirements.

      Job description

      Job responsibilities

      To deliver comprehensive reception services in the GP partnership, including:-

      Receipt of all telephone calls and practice visitors in an appropriate manner, responding to their need courteously, efficiently and correctly in line with practice procedures and guidelines.

      Use of SystmOne GP clinical system prescription generation, on-line services, medical record management including scanning, e-filing, GP2GP, Choose and Book, any software in use within the Practice.

      Medical records - ensure the GP/Clinical team are supported during their surgery/clinic sessions consulting rooms kept orderly, desk-top stocks maintained, message-taking/relaying, refreshments, chaperoning, etc.

      Maintenance - including coding and practice documentation, processing of emails, e-communications

      Use of computer systems in accordance with practice guidelines adhering to data-entry and information governance procedures.

      Responsible for security of equipment/premises/information/drugs/consumable items, as required (in line with practice guidelines).

      Maintain orderliness within the surgery in terms of tidiness and personal conduct

      Manage waiting patients/visitors.

      Follow health & safety working practices.

      Involvement and support to the practice team and associates as appropriate: team meetings, joint initiatives, etc as required.

      Contribute to the development of administration processes and guidelines, as appropriate.

      Any other duties which can be reasonably expected of a receptionist.
