- Entering data, and verifying data for computer processing.
- Knowledge medical terminology, anatomy, and medications.
- Preparing medical evidence/document editing.
- Verifying forms and documents for accuracy.
- Maintain client and document library.
- Understanding and being HIPAA compliant.
- Medical license or certification (LPN preferred).
- Thorough knowledge of grammar, document creation, APA format techniques and medical terminology.
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to operate basic office equipment such as a computer, printer, copy machine, and scanner.
- Detail-oriented, diligent, and flexible.
- Ability to multitask and focus on task completion with little direction or need for supervisory follow up.
- Ability to work and maintain patience with diverse individuals of various ethnic backgrounds and professional competencies.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, performance goal-driven environment.

Job Overview
The remote Medical Records Review Specialist is a medical professional working to build medical evidence for the veteran from the veteran's medical records. The Medical Records Review Specialist will review the veteran's records looking for pertinent diagnosis information, labs, xrays, visit summary notes, progress notes, etc to support the strategy plan decided upon. They will bookmark this evidence and create an evidence folder for the veteran to use. They will work closely with other teams to answer questions about the evidence and provide clear direction on what is in the veteran's medical records. Peer reviewing cases may be needed in addition to normal caseload.
