What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Maintain the integrity, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient health records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Respond to inquiries regarding medical records from patients, providers, and legal representatives
- Collaborate with internal departments to address medical record inquiries and fulfill requests
- Coordinate and manage medical record requests related to external payor audits
- Track and document audit-related activities to ensure compliance and timely responses
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 2 years in medical records or health information management
- Prior healthcare experience is essential
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical terminology
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
