What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Serve as the primary legal expert on the Commodity Exchange Act (CEA) and NFA Rules, advising on licensing obligations
- Lead the strategy for obtaining and maintaining regulatory licenses, including managing the registration lifecycle
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex margin lending agreements and regulatory documents
- Monitor shifts in regulatory mandates and advise the executive team on necessary business strategy pivots
- Oversee the legal response to regulatory inquiries and examinations, managing document production and communication with regulators
What is Required (Qualifications):
- J.D. degree with a focus on financial services, commodities, or corporate law
- 4+ years of legal experience, with at least 3+ years focused on CFTC and NFA regulatory matters
- Deep knowledge of the Commodity Exchange Act (CEA) and the Dodd-Frank Act (Title VII)
- Proven experience in drafting and negotiating ISDA/CSA documentation or clearing agreements
- Previous in-house legal experience at a fintech firm, hedge fund, or major financial institution

- Enthusiasm for crypto and understanding of digital assets within the regulatory landscape
- Familiarity with market infrastructure, including electronic trading platforms and margin management complexities
- Experience collaborating closely with Trading, Engineering, and Risk teams to develop new financial products
