      Job Summary

      The primary role of the Member Services Assistant position is responsibility for operating the daily functions of the Equipment Center and Entry Control at the France A. Córdova Recreational Sports Center (CoRec). They must be knowledgeable of all policies and procedures within the Member Services workstations and within Recreation & Wellness. They demonstrate what it means to be proactive and attentive to facility and patron needs, while providing and maintaining the highest level of customer service. The goal of this position is to give students valuable real-world experience in a supportive environment. The Member Services Assistant position should work 12 hours per week during the current semester. Those hours may be worked in any combination, at the discretion of the direct supervisor. The Member Services Assistant position must be reliable, organized, responsible, and flexible. They must also be ambitious, detail-oriented, creative, and driven.

      Compensation

      $9.50/hour

      Prerequisite(s)

      • Punctuality and ability to attend mandatory meetings/trainings

      Qualifications

      • Must be actively enrolled at Purdue University, Purdue Global, local accredited college, or local high school
      • Ability to maintain confidential information
        • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
        • Flexible and dependable with a strong attention to detail
        • Problem solving, logic and reasoning skills
        • Customer service oriented
        • Ability to multi-task and work within deadlines
        • Ability to work independently and with a team
        • Be timely and organized

      Job Responsibilities

      • Work effectively and collaborate with co-workers to serve patron needs
      • Ensure all RecWell policies and procedures are enforced
      • Learn and use the current software system, Fusion
      • Demonstrate proficiency in the day-to-day operations of the Entry Desk and Equipment Center including selling merchandise, checking out equipment, and providing exemplary customer service to members and guests
      • Maintain a safe environment by actively controlling access of the CoRec and verifying member status for facility use
      • Have knowledge of the layout of the facility and utilize that to give tours
      • Have basic knowledge and understanding of all Emergency Action Plan scenarios
      • Assist the Member Services Manager and Specialist in risk management
      • Other duties as assigned
