- With extensive knowledge of the Zoo’s membership program, coach team members on membership sales strategies, policies and promotions.
- Monitor staffing at front entrance membership gazebo.
- Welcome all guests to the Zoo and thank departing guests. Introduce the membership program to general admission guests and convert them to a suitable type of membership by engaging with each guest.
- Assist guests in purchasing memberships on the kiosk and guests’ own devices, collecting accurate information for members and observing PCI-compliancy requirements.
- Communicate daily information, answer questions and address problems for members and all guests while engaging and creating an exceptional guest experience.
- Achieve budgeted membership conversion goals on weekly and monthly basis, working directly with the Member & Guest Support Supervisor to address any shortfalls or opportunities.
- Support the planning and execution of membership events, including those before and after Zoo hours, coordinating with the Events, Guest Relations and Marketing teams.
- Serve as weekend liaison between Guest Relations and Marketing teams, advising Marketing of any member issues that arise.
- Respond to membership inquiries received onsite, by phone and by email.
- Assist with other Membership-related activities as needed, including fulfillment, inventory review, etc.
- High school diploma or its equivalent (GED) required.
- Must be confident, energetic and self-motivated with an outgoing personality.
- Minimum 2 years of prior experience in sales, customer service or retail environment.
- Professional appearance and manner and must be able to work in a team environment.
- Excellent organizational, time management, interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Able to handle guest interactions professionally.
- General knowledge of Microsoft Outlook.
- Experience in membership or attractions highly preferred.
- Experience in phone or email customer service highly preferred.
- Ability to flex schedule to work weekends and/or evenings for special events.
- Satisfactory completion of a background check.
- Ability to perform physical work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to stand and maintain alertness for long periods of time.
- No allergy to plants or animals that may interfere with the ability to perform required work.
- No impairments of sight, smell, hearing, touch, balance, or agility of movement (which cannot be corrected with appropriate devices) which would interfere with ability to work.
- Able to access staff work areas, concession and visitor areas located across a 42-acre property and remote parking areas.
- Current Covid 19 vaccination or willingness to obtain complete vaccine series OR able to obtain an exemption.

Who We Are Looking For:
A Membership and Sales Specialist who will serve as a lead resources for Philadelphia Zoo membership sales and service.
This position will staff and/or direct staff at the front gate membership station, serve as an “ambassador” of Philadelphia Zoo, market the value and benefits of the Zoo’s membership program and provide outstanding customer service to current and prospective members and guests in person and digitally.
This is a full-time position; regular schedule will be Sunday through Thursday.
