      A role in Finance Operations calls on your skills for quality financial and operational reporting and analytics, ensuring accurate financials while providing thoughtful and responsive support, expertise and guidance to business partners. Your role will be critical to ensuring the success of Target’s business initiatives and core retail operations.

      As a Merchandise Payables Analyst, you will serve as the main contact for Target’s vendor partners, serving as their escalation point for payment issues. You will learn Target’s entire procure to pay flow, focused on how each step in the process impacts payments to our vendors. You’ll identify and resolve issues in this flow by analyzing large data sets and drawing conclusions, asking questions and building relationships with our internal partners (Store Operations, Supply Chain, and Merchandising) and driving resolution to ensure timely and accurate vendor payment. You will closely work with the Target in India Accounts Payable Team to identify and resolve vendor trends, reduce manual work, and develop automated solutions to business problems. Additionally, you will find yourself participating and leading internal projects that allow the Accounts Payable team to support Target’s growth. Job duties may change at any time due to business needs.

      About you:

      B.A/B.S degree or equivalent experience

      2-3 years of business or financial operations experience

      Strong written and verbal communication skills

      High level of curiosity, initiative and the desire to learn end-to-end processes to drive improvements

      Ability to identify and problem solve issues impacting vendor payment

      Proven record of analyzing data and drawing conclusions

      An accounting and control mindset

      Ability to be resilient and adaptable, working through ambiguity and change in a fast-paced operations environment

      Comfortable with technology, including system testing

      This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
