      Job Profile ( Location – Toronto, Hybrid) :

      We are currently hiring an Analyst for our M&A execution team. As an analyst, you will work with and report to the Director, M&A who leads acquisitions for CORA Group, you will have an opportunity to drive all stages of the M&A process, including:

      • Information gathering and Q&A with prospect companies.

      • Business quality assessments of prospect companies.

      • Detailed bottom-up, multi-scenario financial modelling.

      • Review of deliverables prepared by the Analysts within the M&A team.

      • Due diligence, including reviewing and assessing financial statements, financial history by customer, and detailed A/R and WIP analysis.

      • Coordination of the broader due diligence process across multiple workstreams, including leading due diligence meetings with target companies, and management of the overall process internally through maintaining ongoing communication and collaboration with several stakeholders (HR, Legal, Tax, IT, Finance, etc.).

      • Market, competition, and industry risk / opportunity research and analysis.

      • Preparing business summaries, investment memos, model analysis charts and commentaries.

      • Preparation of Indicative Offers and Letters of Intent.

      All of the above responsibilities will be conducted in collaboration with the broader CORA Group team (President, Business Development/Origination, Legal, HR, Tax, IT) and Jonas M&A (alignment, QA, approvals). The role is focused on the execution of transactions, while deal origination is owned separately by the Business Development team, and as such, maintaining ongoing communication with the Business Development team is a key part of the role. You will have the opportunity to add value throughout the entire M&A execution cycle, working with a driven, high-energy team and senior leaders, with a goal of completing 6+ acquisitions per year. This role is in the M&A Execution team, a tight nit team that is continuing to expand to drive CORA’s overall M&A growth objectives.

      Qualifications

      • The ideal candidate will possess 1-2 years of experience working in consulting, private equity, investment banking, or other similar experience;

      • Excellent academic performance in a business, finance, economics, or accounting-related degree;

      • Strong Excel skills and proficiency in building financial models, and capable of translating raw data into thoughtful analysis and concise presentations that will be delivered to senior executives;

      • High quality decision-making and problem-solving skills, with the ability to grasp new and complex concepts quickly, while dealing with ambiguity and imperfect data;

      • Strong time management skills and ability to multi-task between various on-going responsibilities to meet established deadlines;

      • Strong integrity and trustworthiness;

      • Have a deep passion and interest in investing;

      • Advanced verbal and written communication skills with the confidence and polish to speak with business owners, senior executives and external professional advisors; and

      • A strong understanding of technology and the software industry is an asset.
