What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Prepare new generator interconnection applications, including conceptual single line diagrams and compliance verification
- Review ISO feasibility and system impact studies to guide clients effectively
- Perform independent power system studies to support generator interconnection planning strategies
- Conduct advanced grid system studies for new conventional and renewable generation projects
- Write technical reports and proposals, showcasing strong communication skills
What is Required (Qualifications):
- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering with a strong academic background in Power Systems Analysis
- 3+ years of power systems engineering experience
- Knowledge of power regions and ISOs/RTOs such as PJM, MISO, NYISO, ERCOT, SPP, CAISO, and ISO-NE
- Experience with modeling inverter-based resources and renewable generation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with transmission planning software, particularly PSS/E, PSLF, and TARA
- Familiarity with dynamic transient stability and other advanced studies in TSAT, EMTP-RV, or PSCAD
- Strong project planning and leadership skills
- Solid interpersonal skills and ability to work with and guide others
