      Job Overview:
      A law firm is seeking a Mid-Level IP Patent Prosecution Attorney to join its expanding Intellectual Property Practice Group. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience in patent prosecution, including conducting patent searches, analysis, drafting and filing applications, and managing patent portfolios. While experience in mechanical, biomedical, and medical devices is preferred, litigation experience is not required.

      Location:

      Duties:

      • Manage and prosecute patent applications for a variety of industries
      • Conduct patent searches and provide detailed analysis to support IP strategies
      • Draft and file patent applications with the USPTO
      • Provide strategic portfolio management and intellectual property counseling
      • Collaborate with clients to assess and protect their intellectual property
      • Optional involvement in IP litigation

      Requirements:

      • Minimum of 3 years of experience in patent prosecution
      • Strong knowledge of patent law and prosecution procedures
      • Experience with mechanical, biomedical, or medical devices (preferred)
      • Litigation experience (a plus, but not required)
      • Strong client communication and relationship management skills

      Education:

      • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
      • Bachelor's degree in engineering, biomedical science, or a related technical field (preferred)

      Certifications:

      • Admission to the state bar
      • USPTO registration (required)

      Skills:

      • Strong analytical and research abilities
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
      • Highly organized with attention to detail
      • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
      • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
      • Strong client relationship management
