- Facilitate and oversee curriculum study stages (MS Social Studies)
- Oversee common assessment system and coordinate with the District Data Coordinator to oversee data collection for department/PLC, school, and district use
- Participate in School Improvement planning and implementation, supporting alignment within department and PLC work
- Provide recommendations for professional development needs/opportunities
- Analyze student data to determine appropriate summer school curriculum needs and provide training when necessary
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practice in instructional pedagogy
- Coordinate, plan, and/or facilitate professional development opportunities within the department such as classroom observations/visits, lab classroom experiences, collaborative planning, sustained professional development, etc.
- Co-plan, co-teach, and/or model instructional strategies and/or use of new resources, curriculum, and tools with colleagues within content area
- Meet regularly with the Curriculum Director, building principals, and middle school department chairs to review updates, discuss department needs, and identify strategies to support staff and students
- Collaborate with other middle school and high school department chairs for alignment across content and grade levels
- Oversee department budget and purchasing
- Collaborate with building administration on staffing, hiring, and creation of master schedule
- Minimum of Three Years Successful Teaching Experience in Department Area Applied For
- · Evidence of Sound Practices Followed in Establishing Inter-Personal Relationships
- · Demonstrated Abilities in Oral and Written Communication
