      Job summary

We have a new exciting opportunity within our Older People's Unit for a talented Mobility Support Worker to join our dedicated and caring team. The successful applicant will work closely with our patients and make a meaningful and positive contribution to their stay in hospital and their long term recovery.

      Main duties of the job

Primary purpose of this post is to enable and support mobility and active routines for patients on the ward relative to each patient's capability and normal routine. Prolonged bed rest in hospital poses significant risk for patients especially our older persons. It can lead to deconditioning and decline in their functional ability and puts them at risk of additional complications such as chest infections, pressure sores and blood clots.

We value staff wellbeing, with a well-established programme of support. We believe in a holistic approach spanning all aspects of living a healthy life, including physical, emotional, spiritual and financial wellbeing. We've even got a pool!

We are committed to supporting you and hope you want to join our team. • About the company

National Health Service (NHS) is the umbrella term for the publicly-funded healthcare systems of the United Kingdom (UK). The founding principles were that services should be comprehensive, universal and free at the point of delivery—a health service based on clinical need, not ability to pay. Each service provides a comprehensive range of health services, free at the point of use for people ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom apart from dental treatment and optical care.
