- Reviews, monitors, and ensures project files follow internal policies. Develop and deliver training and technical assistance to stakeholders on identified needs.
- Collaborate in program policy and procedure development.
- Enforce compliance with program statutes and policy.
- Implement competitive grant processes with federal and state funds, informing grantees or applicants of program requirements.
- Resolve questions and conflict issues by responding to requests, issues, or problems from stakeholders.
- Coordinate between stakeholders, partners, DWS programs and divisions to develop plans and reports.
- Write correspondence, reports, plans, documents and/or other technical written materials.
- Complete required internal workflow components including spreadsheets and correspondences.
- Monitor contracts according to Departmental Policy.
- Provides monthly and quarterly reports.
- Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize workload, meet multiple deadlines and
- manage changing priorities.
- Has excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication, and analytical skills
- Is detail oriented with the ability to keep records complete and organized.
- Exhibits sound judgment, ability to use available resources to research issues, ability to seek guidance and communicate openly with direct manager.
- Ability to read and understand State, Local, and Code of Federal Regulations (CFR).
- Has intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office Products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Adobe Acrobat; and Google Workspace Products.
- Has proficiency with Adobe and ESRI products.
- Bachelor's degree in planning, urban design, public administration, landscape architecture, or related field or two years of experience in planning, community development, zoning, or a related field.
- APA membership and AICP certification
- Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
- Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.

Moderate Income Housing Program Specialist
(Program Specialist - DWS)
The Housing and Community Development (HCD) Division at the Department of Workforce Services (DWS) is seeking out a highly skilled candidate to fill a Moderate Income Housing Program Specialist positionthat can be telework statewide or in located Salt Lake City.
Principal Duties
The Program Specialist will provide technical assistance and training, monitor project files for compliance, review report and reimbursement submissions, and work with the Program Manager to implement the Moderate Income Housing Program and Database. Some travel is required.
