Process and/or underwrite mortgage loans across the full lifecycle, from application through closing and post-close readiness.
Manage a high-volume pipeline while maintaining accuracy, compliance, and quality standards.
Review income, credit, assets, title, property, and investor overlays to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Prepare, review, and analyze loan disclosures.
Structure loans and, when necessary, restructure loans to ensure borrower qualification and investor compliance.
Register loans in investor portals and manage the loan approval process with investors.
Run compliance reviews, fraud reports, and quality control checks to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Resolve layered risk, guideline conflicts, and exception scenarios using sound judgment.
Proactively identify potential issues and prevent risks before they escalate.
Maintain audit-ready loan files with a focus on defect prevention and compliance.
Collaborate effectively with internal teams to ensure timely and efficient loan progression.
Take immediate action on urgent tasks and ensure deadlines are met without delay.
Self-starter who takes initiative and acts decisively to get tasks completed efficiently.
Minimum of 5+ years of recent experience as a Mortgage Underwriter.
Proven ability to manage high-volume, complex loan pipelines.
Experience working with multiple investors and managing varying guideline requirements.
Strong knowledge of agency and investor guidelines, TRID, disclosures, and regulatory compliance (FNMA/FHLMC, ECOA, RESPA, FHA/VA).
Demonstrated ability to think creatively, solve problems, and implement compliant solutions.
Proactive mindset with a track record of anticipating issues and preventing delays.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail in documentation, conditions, and approvals.
Technically savvy and comfortable using multiple LOS and mortgage technology platforms.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams.
Team-oriented professional who can also work independently with minimal oversight.
Must have experience in non-delegated correspondent lending.

Seeking a seasoned Mortgage Underwriter (or Sr. Loan Processor) with extensive knowledge of regulatory and investor guidelines. Deep understanding of the end-to-end mortgage loan lifecycle to support a high-volume, complex pipeline. This role requires strong judgment, efficiency, senior credit and risk analysis, and the ability to proactively identify and resolve issues before they impact loan quality or closing timelines.
