- Teach and evaluate the students using sound instructional practices
- Effectively manage the classroom and individual student behavior to maintain a good learning environment
- Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required
- Provide guidance and counsel to the students which will promote their welfare and their proper educational development
- Attend parent/teacher conferences
- Be an expert resource for staff in the usage of Branching Minds.
- Counsel with colleagues, students, and parents
- Provide support to staff in regards to Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 levels of support to help students.
- Schedule and provide targeted Professional Development for staff with MTSS
- Maintain and improve professional competence
- Observe ethics of the teaching profession; exhibit professional behavior, emotional stability, and sound judgment
- Communicate with families regarding progress and support provided through the MTSS process
- Provide support in assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated
- Refer students suspected of learning disabilities for diagnosis on a regular basis, seeking the assistance of district specialists as required
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
- Demonstrate knowledge of subject matter and present clear, complete, and accurate explanations utilizing a variety of instructional techniques and media suitable to the level of learners
- Make contact with the public with tact and diplomacy
- Maintain respect at all times for confidential information, e.g., student grades
- Interact in a positive manner with staff, students, and parents
- Promote good public relations by personal appearance, attitude, and conversation
- Time management and ability to meet deadlines

JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: MTSS Lead
Reports to: Director of Elementary Education
Employment Status: Regular Full-time
FLSA Status: Exempt
Licensure: TeachingDescription: To provide targeted and focused professional learning for staff in regards to: sustained multi-tiered systems of support, differentiation, Universal Screeners, baseline assessments, etc. Conferencing with grade level teams on a regular basis to enhance our culture of learning. Support the teaching and learning focus on tier 1, tier, 2 and tier 3 interventions to support learning. Be the building resource expert on Branching Minds, and support its implementation as a resource for school staff in support of students. Coordinate with the building Principal for MTSS meetings and Student Support Meetings and implement protocols and processes to ensure consistency.
