What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct policy analysis and professional program planning for the Municipal Boundary Review (MBR) program
- Evaluate municipal incorporations, consolidations, and intergovernmental boundary agreements for statutory compliance
- Prepare municipal annexation opinions and ensure quality and timeliness of work products
- Collaborate with various stakeholders, including attorneys, planners, and elected officials
- Provide support for the Division's Plat Review program as needed
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Experience in legal writing that includes case law analysis
- Experience with policy analysis and interpreting statutes and municipal ordinances
- Experience facilitating controversial participatory processes with various stakeholders and the public
- Writing and public speaking experience that demonstrates the ability to develop effective and concise documents and deliver presentations on complex issues
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience working with state or local government processes
- Familiarity with land use planning principles and practices
- Knowledge of intergovernmental relations and municipal governance
- Skills in conflict resolution and negotiation
