- Manages gift shop operations including ordering items, inventory, staging items, processing transactions, and selling museum admissions as needed
- Answers telephone calls, messages, welcomes, and assists guests
- Opens and closes the museum facility and outside exhibits
- Processes payments and refunds, maintains POS funds, makes daily deposit, and basic cash handling procedures
- Maintains current procedures in software and updates staff as necessary
- Assists with Museum customer memberships and renewals
- Provides prospective facility renters with availability, contracting, diagrams/layouts, and payment schedules
- Remains aware of museum events, programs, closures, and exhibits
- Performs general office tasks, mailing, sending fax, and shredding
- Prepares files and maintains physical or electronic records and documents in required formats
- Maintains and orders office supplies, and organizes inventory
- Produces various reports and reconciliations upon request
- Drives to complete tasks and errands as needed
- Follows City policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
- Performs other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two (2) years of experience working in a retail environment, event background or related field
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- One (1) year general museum experience
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Experience with RecTrac
- Valid driver’s license
