The Academy at St. Joan of Arc is an Independent Catholic School located in Evanston, Illinois. We are currently looking for a highly qualified, part-time Elementary Music teacher for grades 6-8 for the 2024-2025 school year. Job Responsibilities
· Create and implement weekly lesson plans consistent with curriculum guidelines for music
· Provide a grade-appropriate instructional program of engaging and interactive activities/songs for various grade levels
· Collaborate with other special area staff
· Maintain high professional standards consistent with the mission of The Academy at St. Joan of Arc and the teachings of the Catholic Church
· Be responsible for the safety and active supervision of students at all times and for classroom management
· Assess and document students' progress
· Interact effectively and responds to all parent communication in a professional, empathetic, and timely manner
· Participate in faculty meetings, committees, in-service learning opportunities and other supervision
· Work collaboratively with other teachers, staff, and administration
· Organize and direct upper grade Christmas and Spring concert (grades 5-8)
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's Degree in Music Education, or Elementary Education from an Accredited College or University
· Current Illinois Professional Educator License preferred but not mandatory
