This position functions as a Pool Manager at the Southwest Region Morale, Welfare and Recreation Aquatic facility. The incumbent is primarily responsible for performing a variety of task related to the proper staffing, operation, maintenance and upkeep of aquatic facilities and surrounding areas. The position independently accomplishes a swim and recreation aquatic program that encompasses 2 lap size pools (indoor and/or outdoor).Duties
This position functions as a Pool Manager at Naval Base Ventura County Morale, Welfare and Recreation Aquatic Facility. The incumbent is primarily responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the proper staffing, operation, maintenance and upkeep of aquatic facilities and surrounding areas. The position independently accomplishes a swim and recreation aquatic program that encompasses 2 lap size pools (indoor and/or outdoor). Oversees the operations of pools, spas, and associated support facilities. Develops, evaluates, organizes, publicizes and officiates aquatic programs including, but not limited to: SCUBA, swim lessons, Master's swim programs, swim meets, rough water swims, aquatic fitness programs, Lifeguard certification courses, Water Safety Instructor courses and other type programs, with the goal of increasing participation in the field of aquatics and ensuring safety of all participants. Reviews water quality tests and ensures pool temperature, chlorine, pH, acid demand, total alkalinity and total dissolved solids are maintained according to NavMed P-5010, NAVFAC, BUPERS and local policies. Refers problems to higher authority for resolution. Maintains records of facility upkeep, pool cleaning, chemical reading, bacteriological test results and back washings in accordance with chapter 4 of NAVOSH SAFETY REQUIREMENTS and NavMed P-5010. Determines the requirements of annual staffing and pool equipment. Provides input for budgeting of salaries, supplies, equipment and promotion/advertising, and operates within the approved budget. Performs related duties when necessary
