- Lead the development of optimized substation and HVDC technical solutions/ templates, design books and design automation.
- As a region plant engineering subject matter expert, manage plant engineering knowledge (technical community, design books/templates, return of experiences capitalization…)
- Coordinate above actions within the department and with key technical experts (functional reports)
- Support GE plant engineering technical offers to bids
- Convert project contractual documents into plant engineering requirements
- Define plant engineering planning and cost estimation for tendering offers
- Control plant engineering projects execution technical quality, schedule, and budgets
- Review all the projects design and gate reviews
- In collaboration with Engineering teams, lead plant engineering aspect of HVDC Substation including HVDC and HVAC One line diagrams, Plans and elevation drawings for outdoor station equipment, civil works, foundations and buildings,
- Interface with other disciplines
- Support continuous improvement within Substation and HVDC engineering
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Minimum 10 years of related experience with Project Management - Power Distribution and/of HVDC
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in Transmission & Distribution substation engineering for electric utilities and renewable energy power plants and projects experience as an Electrical Project Engineer in substation type applications, including primary (outdoor) substation design and required studies.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% of the time, both domestic and international. You must comply with all relevant GE company travel and tax policies.
- Strong understanding of onshore civil engineering and offshore platform design and requirements
- Strong knowledge on High Voltage substation international standards & guidelines (IEEE & ANSI standards and codes such as the NEC and the NESC.) , local Grid Codes and related equipment (safety, application, sizing and integration)
- Strong knowledge on contract and project management, Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC), or Engineering equipment package (EEP) project execution
- Proficient with Autodesk CAD tools Revit & Navisworks
- Mentoring/coaching, technical communication skills, teamwork, analytical mind, accountability and commitment,
- Professional English spoken and written
- Professional Engineering License (within the United States), and willingness to serve as the responsible engineer

In particular, the Lead Engineer is the focal point of contact in this domain and the technical leader of plant engineering responsible to develop related knowledge within the team.
The Lead Plant Engineer is the plant engineering representative at the launch of all projects and the Lead Engineer controls the technical execution of the project through closeout.

The salary range for this position is 103,000.00 - 137,300.00 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus. 103,000.00 - 137,300.00 - 171,600.00 USD Annual
