- Deliver nationally centralized operational product to Group’s lines with focus on port call and voyage optimization, by liaising with local ports, terminals and husbandry offices
- Responsible for ensuring the Vessel Operations team meet service levels set by the Agency GM, National Manager for Group’s lines in terms of receiving clear directions, guidance and support to optimize operational activities for PNG port calls
- Ensure that Group’s procedures, policies and guidelines are being adhered when receiving / delivering the services
- Advise Management of any changes that may affect services, costs and provide suggestions to improve the efficiencies and effectiveness of the services being delivered
- Leadership – lead and provide direction to lines, terminals, service providers and sub agents to provide an Operational Excellence and Service Excellence to reach the Group’s expectations
- Team Management – Manage and supervise day to day vessel operations and ensure effective management of third-party resources to meet and exceed Group’s lines requirements
- Supervise, deliver centralized vessel’s operations in accordance with Group’s requirements, policies and procedures so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are being fulfilled by sub agents
- Tertiary qualifications in Nautical studies or Port Operations or Logistics/ Supply Chain Management
- Min 4 years of experience in Maritime Operations, Vessel husbandry or other operational areas within the shipping industry
- Working knowledge of the PNG Shipping Industry
- Previous experience in a supervisory role.
- Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills
- Experience in implementing process improvements and optimization
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with various levels of the organization

Reporting to the General Manager ANL Agencies PNG, the National Vessel Operations Manager is responsible to manage the Vessel Operations team to deliver vessel operational functions and workload management for all PNG ports including coordination with third-party providers.
