What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Oversee and manage the PMNM Native Hawaiian Program, including coordination and evaluation of annual program goals and deliverables
- Create and build partnerships with the Native Hawaiian community and liaise with the Office of Hawaiian Affairs
- Coordinate and lead education and outreach events, public meetings, and other related activities
- Manage administrative tasks required for the successful implementation of the Native Hawaiian Program
- Provide field camp and training services integrating Western Science and traditional Native Hawaiian methodologies
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Master’s Degree or equivalent in Hawaiian Studies, Hawaiian Language, Botany, Biology, Natural Resource Management, or related field (Bachelor's Degree with cultural training may substitute)
- Eight to ten years of experience working with Native Hawaiian communities and natural resource management
- Advanced knowledge in Native Hawaiian history, culture, and traditional resource management
- Proficient in the Hawaiian language and excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Certification and proficiency in scuba diving with at least three (3) years' experience as a diver
