- Performs duties that assist the Neurodiagnostic Technologist and department which include but are not limited to: maintaining and stocking supplies and equipment; patient interaction that may include scheduling appointments and explaining procedures
- Prepares patient rooms for neurodiagnostic procedures; equipment and supply set up and other related duties as established by the department that are consistent with patient and technical care for this level.
- Monitors, in Level 3 and 4 epilepsy centers, continuous EEG patients under the supervision of a Neurodiagnostic Technician.
- Acknowledges clinical seizure recognition, patient safety and how to respond to patient emergencies in the EMU and learns to communicate effectively with the patient to convey the purpose of the procedure and answer questions about the test.
- Removes electrodes and responsible for clean-up of the patient after the procedure while applying safety policy.
- Charges procedures and enters patient data into files and computer system according to facility policy.
- Contacts supervising staff as appropriate for problems within the neurodiagnostic department.
- May perform additional duties as assigned.

The Neurodiagnostic Assistant is designed to be flexible to meet the specific needs of the neurodiagnostic department. Assists the technologist by facilitating the workflow of the department. Does not perform neurodiagnostic procedures and is not expected to become a Neurodiagnostic Technologist. Trains under direct technical supervision and once training is complete and all required institution competencies have been achieved, works under indirect technical supervision.
Shift: Day and Night
Hours: Monday- Friday
