What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Perform an in-depth review of at least 75 proposed transactions per month
- Assess borrower income based upon lending guidelines using various income and asset documentation
- Evaluate purchase contracts and analyze borrower’s financial obligations and credit history
- Communicate calculations and essential information regarding loan assessments to applicants
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of mortgage industry guidelines and ensure compliance with all regulations
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Loan Processor, Loan Officer, or Underwriter in the mortgage industry
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or relevant field is preferred
- Proficient in Encompass, AllRegs, Desktop Underwriter, and other industry-standard tools
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Integrity in handling sensitive and confidential information
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- NMLS License under the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008
- Knowledge of conventional and government lending guidelines
- Experience with unique loan scenarios and applying relevant guidelines
- Familiarity with industry standard income worksheets for self-employed applicants and wage earners
