What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Analyze, select, and profitably price business with prescriptive terms and conditions of coverage
- Communicate with Risk Control for inspections and follow-ups for insureds
- Underwrite renewals and discuss non-renewals as needed, achieving required rate change goals
- Develop and maintain successful relationships with distribution partners through regular communication
- Assist in training new hires and conduct peer audits to foster employee development
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of underwriting experience across all commercial lines
- Experience in Nonprofit Human Services and Education underwriting is preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to analyze and make timely decisions
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Working towards or already obtained CPCU or other industry equivalent certifications
- Previous experience in a mentoring role or training new employees
