What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Ensure documentation meets quality standards and accurately reflects patient status in medical records
- Provide education to staff and physicians on the importance of Clinical Documentation Improvement Program (CDIP)
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and coding team to facilitate modifications to clinical documentation
- Support accurate and timely documentation of clinical information for reporting outcomes
- Act as a consultant to coders for assigning correct DRG codes
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Five years of clinical and critical nursing experience
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or equivalency
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Utah, or obtain one within 90 days of hire
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations
- Ability to identify and monitor trends for documentation improvement
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Knowledge of ICD-9 and DRG coding
- Experience in clinical documentation improvement programs
